Initial Consultation

Brentwood Speech Therapy provides a brief initial conversation (up to 15 minutes) by telephone or email, free of charge.

This consultation is aimed at discussing your child's needs, and how we at Brentwood Speech Therapy can support them.

The initial consultation is informal and obligation free.
Assessment

Assessment is necessary in order to determine what area your child is experiencing difficulties with, and to gather information in order to formulate goals for therapy.

Assessment will consist of a discussion regarding your child's communication development, and any concerns that you have. The therapist will carry out informal assessment e.g. observations of play, games and/or formal standardised assessments.

Initial assessment will last between 1-1.5 hours, depending on the age of the child, and costs £150.
Therapy

Further support and/or recommendations will be discussed following assessment.

If it is agreed that therapy is indicated, then the number of sessions required and the goals of therapy will be discussed and decided between the therapist and parent/carer.

Therapy sessions generally last around 45 minutes, depending on the needs of the child.

Therapy sessions cost £70 each and are usually booked in blocks of 6 sessions, payable in advance.
